Well, I didn't write a computer program, I thought up a way of doing it which is easy to do but rather tricky to describe.
I set it loose on making some three-letter "new" Welsh words first .... as you will see, it generated some duffers, some fairly decent new ones, and some actual real ones..... all exactly as they came out, no editing or 'owt...
huc mai rhe hel dim cwe enu gaf gwy gyd ydd
drw mei gon aen dyd iau ech but mys aiŵ sbo
dsw gwg str pon rho wis tyn tan fel sti adi
godd war blw odde ddam rhae aut fyn ais fof mer
wedd ota hod ste bro dyf rob yny llall fod oed
I'm sure you've spotted the "real" Welsh words in there as well as the completely useless ones like "str" , and then all the "possibles" which aren't actually Welsh words but easily could be. They are the real target!
Now ... I'm going to invent meanings for some of those new-born " Welsh words" .... you might have to think about some of these .... I certainly did ....
cwe → occasional erectile dysfunction ( codi weithiau)
huc→ a country bumpkin
wis→ a very quiet "oo"
blw→ 6 months
ech→ 3
adi → an abbreviated version of "amdani hi" used by drunks, dopeheads etc.
str→ meaning ... < lacking two "y"s >
ais→ a very quiet "ah"
ota→ a SW Wales version of "diolch"
Perhaps you would like to think up some better meanings for those , or maybe supply some for the ones I haven't done. But now, here's what I would call a "very unusual" version of SFA's "Nythod Cacwn" ... take it away lads ...
Here's the "original" words for Nythod Cacwn, some of them stuck to by Band Pres Llaregub ... with the odd extra bits added on free of charge. Great trumpet solo.
