Well, stuff theoretical physics mate ... why not have a go at Welsh. Because with Welsh, the hits just keep on coming ... as Mike Nesmith once said.
I know, I know, you want some examples .... some samples ... well, I've got ample samples of examples to trample on your ... I've run out of -amples now. Here we go ....
Esu, sgen ti'm gobaith mul dod yn ôl 'ma, sti was.
O, duw ia iawn, was.
Esu, ia plis, Huw.
Be gymni di, wa ?
Esu, hold on, hogia.
Iwsia enw arall
.. iwsia fy mobail i ...
Weli di moni am rai oria, was.
Esu, do'n i'm yn gwbod ....
Well, it's pretty clear what "iwsia" is , as for esu and was/wa ... hmmm ... regular readers may remember my groundbreaking discovery of the meaning of "yli" which wore my brain out for days ... it's still feeling a bit rocky now in fact. Compared to the ( currently) 14 dimensions required to make the Unified Field Theory work. ...well, it's about as tough I reckon.
My main thought about "esu" was that it's probably the end of a word ... but anwesu was the only one I could think of in my head and that doesn't seem to fit the bill at all. The trouble is, there aren't many dictionaries that work in that reverse sort of way .... I can't imagine why.
So ... I'll leave that lot with you then. so far, all my appeals for help have fallen on deaf ears, except for that Twm Morys calligraphy thing.
Rather simpler is this song by Winabago ... Dal Fi Fyny ... dyna ni .... and esu and was to all of you, as appropriate.
That's what I'm doing ... and I hope you will too .... now, if the bloggy gods are favourable, here's the link that that "yli" thing
everything-you-ever-wanted-to-know-about-one-direction-and-chvrches.html
and here's the link to that Twm Morys calligraphy thing ... I think...
twm-morys.html
Yn diweddaraf .... well, Google Translate has no idea as to what "esu" means, well, it seems to think it's a person's name. But it does think that "was" = servant. I suppose that's because "gwas" = a servant/lad/... could it be "lad" in that context , as a tag on the end of the sentence ? I'm not convinced.
Gwas also leads to ....Yr hen was ... the devil
Gwas y dryw .. titmouse
Gwas y neidr .... dragonfly ( its body is a bit snaky)
Gwas y gog ... hedge-sparrow
... and gwas can also mean abode/silence. That doesn't apply here. But why "wa ?" Bah.
