I read in the paper yesterday that Festival Number 6 will be at Portmeirion 3rd -6th September ... I looked it up and there shedloads of things going on, Gruff Rhys is giving talks about all sorts of stuff, lots of Welsh bands including 9bach, Y Ffug, Yr eira, Y Pencadlys, Huw M, Estrons, HMS Morris ... it's best for you to look for yourself ... here's the link to it all ...

... there's a vast list of all the goings-on.
In the same paper there was an article about rude words turning up "live" on Countdown . Well, obviously, you know what I'm like, I immediately thought ... oooh ! What's the likelihood of that happening with the Welsh version. I could do a computer simulation, doing 1000's of virtual selections of letters and seeing what came up ... rather like the infinite number of monkeys typing for an infinite time producing an infinite number of copies of everything ever written...... mind you, I'd need a "rude Welsh word detector " which might be tricky... I might resort to "wetware."
Countdown's Rachel Riley left red-faced as she spells out yet another rude word. It's certainly not the first Countdown fail, but Rachel Riley was still left red-faced as she spelled out a rather rude word on the game show today.( It was SLUTZ).
The host, who was wearing a black and white striped dress, stayed fairly professional thoughout the mishap though.
This certainly isn't the first time that a presenter has spelled out a rude word on the game show, with Rachel also previously left cringing when the word 'erection' came up on the board.
Rachel looks red-faced on popular Channel 4 showMyleene Klass also spelled a rather unexpected word during an appearance on the show earlier this year.
The 37-year-old TV star seemed rather proud of herself, as her fellow contestants only managed to use seven letters – both putting forward the word "ghosting".
Using her intelligence to her full advantage, musical genius Myleene then spelled out the word "gobsh**e".
Myleene, who has also worked as a model, TV presenter and released several classical music albums, told host Nick Hewer: "I got a rude one."
She then cheekily added: "It's an eight... gobsh**e.
Here's a few COUNTDOWN-style 8-letter Welsh selections that could produce a bit of a ruction in the firmly buttoned-up population .....
O R N U A B E N use 7 letters
A N Y P S D I D use 5 letters
R C H P H W R T use 5 letters
B I O N E D G Y use 7 letters
C E Y W N S M O use 7 letters
Right, there's something for you to think about , but now it's the award-winning "music spot" once again bringing you the best of Welsh music, but only the bits I happen to like at least a little bit. So, here's " C-C-Cariad ! by Estrons, which of course I picked because, oo-er -missus, Estrons has got "trons" in it. ... what a pity they aren't called Exstrons, then you could get "sex trons" by a neat bit of reshuffling, which would be quite startling. I can't put it any stronger than that.
