The thing is, when you talk to "proper" Welsh speakers, you have control over what you are going to say ...so you can keep it simple, you can use your pre-installed starters and general-purpose answers ... no problems! But ... if you can't follow and understand what they say, you're a bit stuck. So listening skills are vital ... and they're important as well.
On an entirely different tack, I'm thinking of changing the title of this blog to the more realistic ....
LEARN WELSH IN 88 YEARS
Maybe a soppy, encouraging title like The Rocky Road to Welsh is a bit of a con ... plus, on a more practical note, there's billions of sites on the net that start with "The Rocky road to" .... but very few that imply that it will take you 88 years to learn something. if you have any thoughts about this ( or, in fact, any thoughts at all) you could comment on the "comment" thingy.
That's all assuming that I can actually work out how to change the title in the first place.
