When you're doing the talking, you're in control of what you say ... you can keep it very simple if you like .... according to your proficiency.
BUT ... when you listen to them, you've got no control over the complexity of what they're going to say, the vocabulary, the length and complexity of their sentences...
Obviously, that's not going to matter too much if you're happy just to read Welsh ... and for us outside-Wales learners that's what we do most of. But if you want to take part in conversations, you're going to have to listen to as much Welsh as you can.
We're very lucky with the availability nowadays of Welsh speech on platforms like youtube.
