Obviously I was under the sad delusion that I, too, was impenetrable and tough.
And maybe that impulse purchase would have come to nothing if I hadn't been in the library a week or two later and there, serendipitously, incongruously, nestled between Greek in a Week, French in 3 Months, Armchair Armenian, Norwegian Nuggets etc, was that book up there .... Gareth " King of Welsh" King's Modern Welsh: A Comprehensive Grammar. Reader, I took it out. I was impressed. It was a bit like " Learn Greek in 25 Years" . Darn. Darnog.
This morning, "x" years later, it arrived in the post. Yes, I had eventually stumped up the horrendous amount of money required to get my own copy of this sacred tome. If you are of more slender means you can read quite a bit of it on Amazon using the "Look Inside" thingy.
At least my bedtime reading is sorted out for the next "y" years. I'm going to write my name in the front and everything. I sort of feel grown up at last. But enough of this solipsistic sothach !
