Penis ( cala) is feminine ..... ( note .. other Welsh words for this organ are available)
So ... how are you going to remember the gender of every noun you are likely to use ?
It's an exciting and wonderful prospect you have ahead of you. One sure-fire way is to build a time machine, go back in time until you are a tiny child, then drive your parents mad and get them to give you away for adoption. keep doing this until you get adopted by a Welsh-speaking family and learn Welsh the way most Welsh-speakers did.SORTED !
The books say .....
[a] Learn all your nouns with "y" in front ..... that way you will know the female nouns because they will be Soft-Mutated. Not exactly loin-stirring is it. Or lion-stirring for that matter.
[b] Learn all your nouns with an adjective after them..... that way you will know the female (singular) ones because they will SM the adjective.
Well, that's all very well, but you can liven things up a bit ... what about this ... let's see how we can remember that DRYCIN = foul weather is a feminine noun ....
So, here's one more for the road .... showing you that telyn = harp is feminine, and thrown in free and for nothing, so is a tent = pabell .......
