Yesterday's story about the biker with only half of the alphabet reminded me of a great William story .... his aunt sent him a John Bull Printing Outfit ( see above)) as a present, but he managed to lose the little strip of "e"s ....
The idea was, you push the little (tiny) rubber letters into a slotted frame, and when your message is complete you press it onto an inkpad and then print it onto paper .... tremendously empowering back in the 1950's !
Well, William's mum insisted that he must write to his Aunt (using his new printing outfit) thanking her for her kind and generous gift..... which was going to prove rather tricky without any "e"s.
Naturally, having recalled the story, I was tempted to try to do it in Welsh and also naturally, I think you should try it too.
So, your task for today is to try to write a thank-you letter to your aunt, in Welsh, for your lovely printing outfit ..but without using any "e"s which you have lost of course. Good luck ! Think yourself lucky that his aunt was called Ann and not Esmeralda.
And now, it's Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog gan " Y Ffenest" .....
